ORLANDO, Fla, October 24, 2005 – Today at Storage Networking World, RAID storage expert Infortrend announced the company’s first 4Gbit per second Fibre Channel (FC-4G) to SATA-II RAID subsystems. Available in single controller (EonStor® A16F-G2422) and redundant controller (ES A16F-R2422) models, the new arrays support RAID6 and combine the high performance, reliability, and scalability of FC-4G host interfaces with the low cost and high capacity benefits of 3Gbit per second (3Gbps) SATA drive technology.
The FC-4G host channels double the storage network performance speed while maintaining backward compatibility with 1Gb and 2Gb systems. Employing Infortrend’s renowned, custom ASIC266 with XOR engine, the ES A16F-G2422 and ES A16F-R2422 are designed to satisfy the speed, capacity and reliability demands of medium- to large-sized enterprises. Both systems are available now through Infortrend’s worldwide network of OEMs, distributors, and storage integrators.
“Our customers depend on Infortrend to supply them with the latest advancements in RAID technology and SATA-based RAID subsystems,” said Tony Chu, president of Infortrend Corporation. “By moving to the FC-4G interface and second generation SATA-II technology, the EonStor A16F-G2422 offers massive storage capacity and accelerates the storage data path. Its high performance and full bandwidth assure the highest level of data availability in a safe environment.”
