SAS Interface Adds Choice of High-Performance or Cost-Effective Storage Expansion

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 24, 2007– RAID storage expert Infortrend® today announced two new EonStor® Fibre-to-Fibre RAID controllers, the EonStor (ES) FF-R4030 redundant controller and the FF-S4030 single controller systems. For high performance and massive storage expansion, the RAID heads feature a 4Gigabit Fibre Channel (4G-FC) host interface that doubles bandwidth over the previous 2G-FC interface and support up to 272 drives across multiple expansion channels. These robust controllers provide secure yet cost-effective online storage for organizations managing high volumes of data transactions in industries such as banking, telecommunications, and insurance. Users have the flexibility to choose high-performance 4G-FC SBOD (Switched Bunch of Disks) expansion using dual FC loops and cost-efficient Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) expansion via the systems’ two SAS SFF-8470 wide ports.
