INFORTREND UNVEILS DUAL CONTROLLER SAS-TO-SAS RAID ARRAY
Build Up to 48TB of Storage Using New Array with JBOD Expansion

SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 28, 2007– Staying in the forefront of SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) RAID technology, RAID storage expert Infortrend® today announced the EonStor® (ES) S12S-R1032 redundant controller subsystem, the newest model in its line of SAS-to-SAS arrays. With its multi-lane SAS host interface, the S12S outperforms SCSI-320 to deliver ample bandwidth and processing capabilities to support massive storage capacities for data-intensive applications.  System integrators can build cost- and performance-effective storage solutions, using high-availability SAS drives for mission-critical solutions and cost-effective SATA drives for near-line backup environments.

The EonStor S12S-R1032 comes with four SAS wide host ports that provide 12Gb-per-second bandwidth per port for high speed data transfer. The S12S has a built-in SAS expansion port which can connect to as many as three EonStor S12S-J1002-R SAS JBODs for up to 48TB of storage capacity when populated with 1TB (1 terabyte) SATA-II drives. As with all EonStor products, the S12S comes with full-featured RAID functionality, including RAID6, to provide the ultimate in data protection and availability.
