INFORTREND DEBUTS DESKTOP RAID ARRAYS
WITH SAS HOST INTERFACE
Breakthrough Performance, Budget Storage Appeals to PC and Macintosh Users

SANTA CLARA, Calif., February 12, 2008 – RAID storage expert Infortrend® today unveiled two new systems in its 'Cube' series: the EonStor® A08S-C2131 and A08S-C2132 SAS-to-SATA-II desktop RAID arrays. Combining affordability and reliability, the new eight-bay arrays support cost-effective SATA-II hard drives to provide up to 8TB of storage capacity and come with enhanced security features to protect data in the event of hard disk failure. The systems' multi-lane SAS host interface offers ample bandwidth to handle high transactions and intensive throughput demanded by applications such as video editing, online retail and banking.  

In a compact enclosure approximately the size of a standard PC tower, the arrays' unique desktop/tower convertible design is the result of direct customer feedback, allowing users to conveniently position these storage devices according to their space requirements. Also, for the first time, customers can choose either black or silver enclosures to complement the look of their PC or Macintosh environments.

The A08S-C2131/2132 systems provide high-performance, reliable yet affordable RAID storage for individual departments within a company, independent environments such as SOHO applications, and post-production and editing in the video, audio, and broadcast markets. Their enhanced performance supports the following formats:

• Dual uncompressed high definition (HD) video streams
• Multiple standard definition (SD) video streams
• Multiple HDV video streams
• Up to 16 DV/DV50 streams
• Video streams up to uncompressed 10-bit 1080p HD
