FAQ
Infortrend RAID
What is RoHS and is Infortrend RoHS certified?
Infortrend is RoHS certified. The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
Manufacturers need to understand the requirements of the RoHS Directive to ensure that their products, and their components, comply.
The RoHS Directive and the UK RoHS regulations came into force on 1st July 2006.
Infortrend also qualifies China RoHS. Per new regulations all items shipped to China need to be marked as to whether the items contained in the box are compliant or non-compliant. The Electronic Information Products (EIP) logo or other label is used to mark parts and assemblies that do not contain unacceptable amounts of substances identified by Administrative Measure on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products, also known as China ROHS, as environmentally safe.
Units that contain hazardous substances are marked with the Electronic Information Products (EIP) logo including an Environmental Protection Use Period (EPUP) value in years.
