With the decline in cost-per-Gbps of 10GbE ports, deploying 10G IP SANs has become more feasible for businesses of all sizes. Infortrend announces two new EonStor storage systems featuring 10GbE iSCSI capability, dual-controller ES S16E-R1240 and single-controller ES S16E-G1240, to address the growing demand for 10GbE storage requirements.

Built upon a 10GbE architecture, the S16E arrays prepare users for the seamless migration to 10GbE. With two 10GbE iSCSI ports on each controller, the S16E delivers breakthrough performance to meet demands of virtualized datacenters and the most throughput-demanding applications, such as video on-demand, data mining and remote backup. For increased capacity, a single S16E system can be connected to expansion enclosures to house a maximum of 112 drives. By intermixing SAS and SATA drives in the installation, users can flexibly meet diverse operational needs in a cost-effective way.
