The S12E series offers single controller and dual controller models. The single-controller S12E-G1133 comes with two 1GbE host ports. It serves as a cost-effective choice for applications that don't demand so much about fault-tolerance and performance but would like to leverage the IP SAN benefits. If users want to further incorporate the IP SAN infrastructure into their mission-critical applications, they can turn to the redundant controller S12E-R1132, which offers a total of 8 host ports. The combined bandwidth and fully-redundant hardware design qualify it as high-end storage for outstanding performance and high availability.

Remarkable Scalability for Abundant Capacity

Populated with 1TB SATA drives, a single S12E array can support up to 12TB of storage capacity. When the size of data grows beyond the default capacity, users can purchase expansion enclosures to scale the current configuration up to 60TB (S12E-G1133). The subsystem's SAS expansion port(s) enable easy configuration. To get additional capacity, all users have to do is to attach the cables and select an enclosure ID by a rotary switch. If the storage system simultaneously serves different applications, users can flexibly mix SAS and SATA drives to make the system tiered and ensure the best ROI.

EonPath:The EonPath drivers coordinates with Microsoft MPIO, runs on Solaris and Linux platforms, provides fault tolerance for multiple data paths and load-balancing algorithms. The EonPath also enables access through an alternate path in the event of single cabling failure.
