Multi-Path (EonPath®)
Accelerate throughput and uninterrupted operation with Infortrend's multi-path technology
EonPath provides multipath IO function by recognizing and managing the redundant paths to an individual RAID volume. Greater reliability is achieved through the path failover mechanism in the event of cabling component failure. The EonPath also comes with load-balancing algorithms which help accelerate the throughput across host-storage data links.
Functionality
- Active-Active/ Active-Standby Path Redundancy
- Intelligent Load-Balancing
- I/O traffic monitoring
- Multiple paths to RAID volumes ( up to 32 )

To increase system availability and enhance throughput, users often deploy redundant paths between servers and data volumes. Infortrend EonPath is designed to handle data path failover while balancing workloads in Microsoft, Linux and Sun Solaris environments. Via the user-friendly GUI, users can easily manage and monitor their high availability configurations. During path failure, I/Os will be automatically routed to alternate paths without causing any disruption to applications in production. In performance-demanding environments, EonPath allows users to enable Active/Active policy on redundant paths. Coupled throughput of multiple data links reduces I/O bottlenecks and supports applications to deliver better productivity. Tightly integrated with operating system kernels, EonPath realizes business benefits by adding reliability and performance to IT environments.
Multiple data paths to heterogeneous Services

The Differences Infortrend EonPath Makes:
| IT Problems | With Infortrend EonPath |
|---|---|
| Broken data path leads to application disruption | Ensure continuous data flow through automatic failover and failback in the event of data path failure |
| Limit application performance by single data path capability | Dynamically distribute workloads among all available data paths to optimize productivity |
| Pay additional costs for 3-rd party multipathing software | Leverage native multipathing support embedded in storage systems at no extra charges |
| Go through complicated and time-consuming processes to configure redundant data links | Manage data paths in a simple and efficient way through user-friendly GUI |
Infortrend EonPath can bring you:
Increased Availability
Eliminate system downtime caused by data path failure; in the event of cabling component failure, I/Os will be automatically directed to alternate data paths to ensure non-disruptive production.
Enhanced Performance
Balances workloads across data paths; multiple data paths work together to enhance system performance with consolidated throughput.
Flexible Deployment
Choose from a selection of load-balancing policies including Mini Queue and Round Robin and Failover; flexible Active/Active and Active/Passive options allow users to configure the most suitable multipathing for their environments.
Simplified Management
Provide easy-to-use interface for multipathing management and monitoring; no special training is required to configure path failover and load-balancing based on application requirements.
