This section describes the procedures of activating a file scale-out license on a GS appliance.

Important!

• The license is required to use the auto-balancing feature or when you migrate a folder from one appliance to another in the cluster (refer to Migrate and Manage Folders for details).
• If you are using only one appliance (i.e. the primary appliance) for now, no license is required.

1. Log in to EonOne of a GS appliance and go to Settings > System > License management to generate the License Application File.
2. On Infortrend’s website, go to Support > Product Services > Licensing Services and log in to your account. You will need to create an account and register your appliance first.
3. Once you have logged in, select Advanced License Activation from the left menu and follow the instructions to download the License Key File.
4. Return to EonOne. Go to Settings > System > License management to upload the License Key File.
5. Repeat the steps above for the remaining GS appliances in your cluster one by one.
