You can back up your data on a Windows PC and a Mac. To realize this, install the software EonView for your computer to connect and back up the data in it to the GS. If this is the first time that you use EonView, download the software via Infortrend Downloads. Install it by following the on-screen instructions.

You can manage all scheduled backup tasks via EonView. On EonOne, you can view information of all connected computers.

Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), a built-in service in Windows, is necessary for the backup service to work properly:

1. In your OS, select Start. Go to Windows Administrative Tools > Services.
2. The list of services is displayed. In the list, find Volume Shadow Copy.
3. On the icon of the service, right-click and select Properties.
4. For the Startup type, select Automatic.
5. For the Service status, click Start.
6. Click OK to apply the settings.

1. On your computer, open EonView.

   Note:

   On Windows, EonView must run as an administrator. As a result, when you open EonView, grant access to it by clicking Yes when the OS notification is displayed.

2. Click the  icon.
3. Turn on this feature by clicking the toggle switch.
4. Select an IP address.
5. Click OK to initialize the service.
6. To use EonView on another computer, repeat Step 1 to Step 5 on another computer.
