Cable Management Arm Overview

The storage enclosure model requires the use of two cable management arms (CMA). Each arm includes three latch shields that will connect to the latches on the rails and the storage enclosure. The cable clamps help maintain an organized cable route.

Important!

Refer to Install the Rackmount Kit > Install the Inner Latches on the Rear Side of the Enclosure for instructions on installing the rail kit and the inner latches (B).

Adjust the Cable Management Arms

Rotate the Outer Latch

Before you start, rotate the outer latch shield (E):

1. Press the latch button as shown in the picture.
2. Rotate the latch shield 180°.
3. Do the same for the other CMA.

Remove Two Cable Clamps

Remove two cable clamps from each CMA to make room for installing the Velcro straps.

1. Locate the two cable clamps to be removed from each CMA, as illustrated below.

   

2. While pressing the flat part of the bigger latch (A), push the cable clamp in the direction as illustrated below (B), and release the cable clamp from the CMA (C).

   

3. Repeat the steps to remove the other cable clamp. Do the same for the other CMA.

Install the Velcro Straps

1. Insert three Velcro straps through the square holes in the CMA, as illustrated below. Ensure that Velcro strap 1 goes through the designated hole indicated in the picture.

   

2. Do the same for the other CMA

Install the Cable Management Arms

1. Connect the inner latch shield (A) to the inner latch (B) on the storage enclosure. Do the same for both CMAs.

   

2. Connect the outer latch shield (C) to the outer latch (D) on the right rail. Do the same for both CMAs.

   

3. Connect the outer latch shield (E) to the outer latch (F) on the left rail. Do the same for both CMAs.

   

Route Cables through the Cable Management Arms

1. Route the power cords through the cable clamps. The power cord for PSU A (left) should go through the bottom CMA, and the power cord for PSU B (right) should go through the top CMA.

   

2. Route the network cables through the cable clamps. The cables of controller A should go through the top CMA, and the cables of controller B should go through the bottom CMA.

   

3. Once all the cables have been connected and routed, secure them with the Velcro straps that were previously installed (1 ~ 3). Then use the remaining Velcro straps (4 ~ 5) to bundle the cables together. Do the same for both CMAs.

   

4. Secure the cables at the turning corner of the CMA using one of the provided cable ties.

   

Important!

Ensure that the head of the cable tie is oriented downwards.
