Following three months of evaluating and testing various products, Qihoo 360 decided to use Infortrend EonStor DS storage solutions. The company purchased three EonStor DS S16F-R2851 RAID systems and nine compatible expansion enclosures. The solution consists of three email storage systems: one RAID array and three attached JBODs per system. The systems meet all the above requirements, and since they are identical can easily be used for local and remote replication. Two systems are in central Beijing and one is in Tongzhou, located to the east of the city. Being identical, each can serve as a primary data center and a backup data center as needed. Always-ready backup data centers ensure quick access to email in the event of unplanned downtime, providing prompt recovery and continued operation.
