Why Doesn't the Secondary Controller's Management Port LED Light Up?

Last modified date: Fri, 22 Nov 2024 14:23:49 GMT+8

Symptom

When connecting an Ethernet cable to the secondary controller’s management port, the port’s LED does not light up.

Diagnosis

The secondary controller’s management port is in standby mode, so the LED does not light up when an Ethernet cable is connected. This port remains inactive unless the secondary controller takes over as the primary.

Explanation

This is expected behavior. Only the primary controller’s management port LED will light up. If the primary controller fails, the secondary controller will take over its IP address, and its management port LED will then light up.
