The internal SSD drive of the GS controller has reached the end of its lifespan due to prolonged use. After reaching its lifespan, the I/O performance of the SSD drive may degrade, which is a limitation of SSD technology.
Symptoms
When this issue occurs, the controller switches its writing method from write-back to write-through. This change is made to protect ongoing write I/O operations and prevent data loss in case of a power outage.
Error Message and Events
When the problem occurs, the event log will report an error similar to the following:
0x21084313 Controller A Flash backup module has reached its lifespan. The system has now disabled write-back cache and has degraded performance. Contact the supplier immediately for controller replacement.

This issue can affect EonStor GS/GSe/GSe Pro systems after a certain period of usage, depending on the controller's workload and running time.
