Cluster Rebalance Configuration

KS / KS 3000U / KSa 3004UE

The Cluster Rebalance feature on IEC ensures that CPU resources are distributed evenly across the cluster. It prevents "hotspots" where one node is overworked while others are idle. The system uses a dynamic threshold formula to define "under-utilization" and automatically moves workloads to balanced nodes.

Procedure

  1. Go to EonKube > Manegement Feature
  2. Locate Cluster Rebalance.
  3. Toggle the switch to ON.
    • Automation Logic:
      • Trigger: Automatically runs 10 minutes after a New Node is Added or a Node Fails back.
      • Safety Gap: If a Firmware (FW) Update is in progress, the rebalance is postponed. It will wait for a new 10-minute window after the update completes.
      • Smart Consolidation: During rolling upgrades, the system is designed to trigger the rebalance only once to avoid unnecessary pod churning.
  4. Check for Rebalance Events: Administrators can track the rebalance process through the event logs to see which Pods or VMs were moved.
