Restoring Backup Data

KS / KS 5000U / KSa 5008U

Note:

When the resources that you want to restore including a PV:

  • If you restore the resources to the original namespace, delete those pod, PVC, and PV which are with the same name.
  • Make sure that the storage class can create a PV that is large enough for the restored data.

Procedure

  1. Go to EonOne for KS > Settings > Backup & restore > Restore.
  2. To restore specific Kubernetes resources / apps / virtual machines, find the related task.
  3. Make sure the task status is “Completed” or “Partially completed”.
  4. Select the task.
  5. Click Restore.
  6. Go to Restore from a backup page and specify the following settings:
    • Restoration name: Specify an identifying name for this task.
    • Restore the backup to original/specified namespaces: Choose to restore the backed-up resources to their original namespaces, or restore these resources to other namespaces.
    • When selecting Restore the backup to specific namespaces, specify the Namespace mapping and Storage class mapping. The source namespace and source storage class are displayed; check and click the dropdown menu to select the destination namespace and destination storage class.
    • Select resources to restore: Restore all backed-up resources. If you only want to restore some of them, clear the check marks in front of those resources.
    • When a resource with the same name already exists: Select to Overwrite or Skip when there are resources with the same names in the destination namespaces.
    • Maximum execution time: Specify the time period that the task is allowed to execute. The default is 4 hours. If you expect the processing time of this backup task will be longer than 4 hours, specify the time.
    • Post-backup rule: Choose a rule to execute when the restore task completes. For more information about adding a rule, see Adding a Backup Rule.
  7. Click OK.
Note:

When restoring data of a PV, resume data I/O after the task is completed.
