Cloning a Virtual Machine

KS / KS 5000U / KSi 5024U

IEC allows you to clone a virtual machine with or without volume data. This function doesn't need to take a VM snapshot or set up a backup target first.

Overview

Two clone modes are available:

  • Clone with volume data: Creates a new VM and includes the original volume data
  • Clone without volume data: Creates a new VM with the same configuration only
Important!

Stop the source VM before cloning to ensure data consistency.

Procedure

  1. Go to EonKube > Virtualization > Virtual Machines.
  2. Locate the source VM.
  3. Click on the ⋮ icon (more options) and select Clone.
  4. Enter the new VM name.
  5. Choose clone volume data checkbox
  6. Click Create to create a new VM.
