nSTREAMS provides a seamless turnkey system that enables the client to offer blockbuster movies, High Speed Internet as well as additional Information menus all via the television set. nSTREAMS offers both the equipment, the movies and the expertise to local, regional and international cable TV companies, dealers, system integrators and commercial establishments to offer a fully flexible package to their customers. Movies, Internet, Off-Air Programming and Cable programming bases can all be integrated into one system with very simple access.

Performance Requirement with Reliability

nSTREAMS required a storage system that was reliable and able to meet the performance requirements of their application. System loading tended to vary at different times of the day. Usually peak loading occurred at night as business users logged on to the Internet and took advantage of the in house movie system. Weekend usage tended to be quieter with more evenly balanced usage.

Configuration with EonStor High Speed Fibre Channel Solution

The storage needed to be accessible by a number of servers and these servers needed to share the storage via a small storage area network (SAN). Smaller client systems had network access to the main servers. The Infortrend EonStor system that was selected by nSTREAMS features dual high speed 4 gigabit Fibre Channel interfaces and accommodates SAS drives. The Infortrend system met the requirements of the nSTREAMS application and also had the ability to expand should a need arise in the future.
