Infortrend expansion enclosures and JBOD provide flexible capacity expansion for storage systems and servers, supporting SSD or HDD storage expansion options in standard rackmount and high-density rackmount designs. As capacity requirements increase, users can add enclosures without replacing the existing system, and data will be automatically and evenly distributed across the newly added storage.
Expansion Enclosure for Rackmount Storage Systems
U.2 NVMe All-Flash Expansion Enclosure
Designed for high-performance U.2 NVMe models of EonStor GS/GSe/GSx families*, the JB 4000U U.2 NVMe all-flash expansion enclosure (JBOF) comes in a 2U 24-bay form factor. With supported SSDs of up to 61.44TB each, a single JB 4000U unit can provide nearly 1.5PB. It delivers high throughput up to 24GB/s in a dual-controller configuration.
SAS HDD Expansion Enclosure
SAS HDD expansion enclosures, the JB 4000 and JB 3000, are designed for the EonStor DS/GS/GSx/GSe/GSe Pro families.
JB 4000 features a high-density 4U 90-bay form factor for 3.5" drives and adopts 24G SAS connectivity.
JB 3000 is available in multiple form factors, including 2U 24-bay and 2U 25-bay configurations for 2.5" drives, as well as 2U 12-bay, 3U 16-bay, and high-density 4U 60-bay and 4U 90-bay configurations for 3.5" drives. It comes with 12G SAS connectivity.
JBODs for Rackmount Servers
JBODs for rackmount servers are designed for the EonServ 5000 series and other servers. They come in the JB 400 and JB 300 series.
JB 400 features a high-density 4U 90-bay form factor for 3.5" drives and supports 24G SAS.
JB 300 offers 2U 12-bay, 3U 16-bay, and high-density 4U 60-bay and 4U 90-bay configurations for 3.5" drives, as well as a 2U 24-bay for 2.5" drives, and supports 12G SAS.

A SAS HDD JBOD (JB 4000, JB 3000, JB 400, JB 300) supports high-capacity HDDs. An NVMe JBOD, also called a JBOF, supports NVMe SSDs for high performance: JB 4000U holds 24 U.2 NVMe SSDs and delivers up to 24GB/s in a dual-controller configuration.

Yes. Infortrend offers three 24-bay expansion enclosures. The JB 3024B supports SAS SSDs, and the JB 4024U supports NVMe SSDs; both are designed for Infortrend storage systems. The JB 324B supports SAS SSDs and is designed for servers.
