Why Isn't the Defragmentation of the Volume Running?

Last modified date: Mon, 09 Mar 2026 17:18:37 GMT+8

Symptoms

Volume performance degrades over time due to fragmentation, even though no system errors are reported.

Possible Cause

The defragmentation task is either not scheduled or interrupted before completion.

Recommended Solution

  1. Navigate to Settings > Storage > Volumes.
  2. Click More > Defragmentation and configure a schedule.
  3. Schedule the defragmentation task during non-peak hours.
  4. Monitor task execution to ensure it completes successfully.

Preventive Action

  • Periodically check that defragmentation tasks are scheduled and running.
  • Avoid scheduling during peak I/O periods.
  • Review system logs to confirm successful task completion.
