Why Isn't the Recycle Bin Emptying Automatically?

Last modified date: Thu, 05 Mar 2026 14:21:39 GMT+8

Symptoms

The recycle bin for a shared folder continues to grow and does not delete files automatically, even when storage space is low.

Possible Cause

No recycle bin schedule is defined for the shared folder.

Recommended Solution

  1. Go to Settings > Shared Folders > Recycle Bin Schedule.
  2. Click Add a Recycle Bin Schedule.
  3. Select the target shared folder.
  4. Set and save a regular schedule to automatically empty the recycle bin.
  5. Confirm that the schedule is enabled and saved successfully.

Preventive Action

  • Periodically check recycle bin schedules to avoid unexpected storage usage.
  • Educate users to monitor shared folder usage if automatic cleanup is critical.
