Symptom:

A controller has failed within the system.

Procedure:
  • Check 7-Segment LED:
    1. Check the 7-segment LED indicators on the failed controller.
    2. If possible, record a short video showing the LED indications for checking.
  • Remove and Reinstall Controller:
    1. Safely remove the failed controller from the system.
    2. Ensure all LEDs on the controller are off before proceeding with reinstallation.
    3. Reinstall the controller back into its slot securely.
  • Wait for Controller Boot-Up:
Allow sufficient time for the previously failed controller to boot up and initialize within the system.
  • Export Diagnostic Logs and Coredump Files:
    1. Once the controller is operational again, access the management interface or command-line interface.
    2. Export the full diagnostic log and any coredump files related to the failure.
    3. These files are essential for Technical Support to diagnose the issue accurately.
  • Contact Technical Support:
    1. Visit the Infortrend Support Portal.
    2. Log in or create an account if necessary.
    3. Submit a support ticket and attach the exported diagnostic logs and coredump files.
    4. Provide a detailed description of the issue and steps taken.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage a controller failure in your system, ensuring proper documentation and preparation of diagnostic information for further support.
