How to Set Up and Use a Spare Drive for GS?

Explanation:

We offer three types of spare drive configurations:

  • Global Spare:
    A spare drive that is available to all storage pools and logical drives across the system.
  • Local Spare:
    A spare drive that is reserved for a specific storage pool or logical drive.
  • Enclosure Spare:
    A spare drive that is available within a specific enclosure and can be used by drives within that enclosure.
To Set Up a Spare Drive:
  • Launch GUI(EonOne).
  • Navigate to Settings > Storage > Drive.
  • Select the drive you wish to configure.
  • Click Manage Spare Drive and follow the configuration steps.

Note:
You can only use unallocated or unoccupied drives (drives not assigned to logical drives or storage pools) as spare drives.
