What Are the Prerequisites for Setting Up a Remote Replication Pair?

Last modified date: Fri, 22 Nov 2024 14:24:28 GMT+8

Prerequisites:

To successfully set up a Remote Replication Pair, ensure the following conditions are met:

  • Use Central EonOne or SANWatch to add both systems from the primary and remote sites for remote replication configuration.
If you intend to use Target Volume Auto Mapping, in-band configuration is required for both sites.
  • Acquire valid Remote Replication licenses for both the source and target sites.
  • Ensure that the source and target sites use EonStor GS, EonStor GSe (for Central EonOne), or EonStor DS (for SANWatch) systems.
  • If the connection is via an IP network and crosses a gateway, data transfer will occur through port 3260, which is also the default iSCSI port. For connections via a fiber network with zoning on an FC switch, ensure both primary and secondary sites are located within the same zone.
  • For remote replication spanning different buildings or cities, ensure the designated bandwidth is 45 Mb/s or higher to support the data transfer.
