Specializing in children’s entertainment, Splash Entertainment is an innovator, developer, and producer of original animated television series, properties and brands that are implemented across all digital platforms of media. The company’s library contains content airing in more than 160 territories worldwide.

Integration, reliability and speed

Splash was using five different storage platforms (HP MAS 1500, Avid ISIS, Drobo…) scattered about their data center, with only one staff member responsible for maintenance. Their data center was storing data for general company operations and post productions, however, it stopped being able to accommodate higher performance and capacity demands necessary for better studio operations and data-rich editing tasks.

After considering alternatives from other major storage providers, Splash decided to deploy a storage solution combining Infortrend EonStor DS RAID storage systems, Tiger Technology’s Tiger Serve and ATTO’s 16Gb/s FC connectivity solution — all industry-proven data solutions offered by MotionMedia, a well- known authorized reseller of media and entertainment software and hardware for film, television and video games.

With the new bundle package provided by MotionMedia, Splash moved off of old, slow and unreliable storage to a single, combined storage solution allowing general operation and post production and editing tasks to coexist with high performance and better reliability, which enhanced their productivity.
