Maddalena SpA Leverage EonStor DS Systems to Achieve Business Continuity for 24/7 Production Facility

Located in Northern Italy, Maddalena SpA is a well known measuring instruments manufacturer company that began operations in 1919. Its measuring instruments have exported to over 60 countries worldwide. For expansion and maximum utilization of its facility to fulfill market demands, Maddalena needed to replace its existing storage systems with one that provided better performance, reliability and scalability. The requirement for the storage replacement was to achieve 24/7 facility operations.

EonStor DS Systems Seamlessly integrate with the Existing Virtualized Data Center

The new storage solution was introduced by Maddalena’s networking consultant, NT Nuove Technologie, a renowned consultant agency and system integrator in Italy. With over 20 VM’s (virtual machines) servers under VMware vSphere 5.1 cluster environment, Infortrend EonStor DS storage systems integrated seamlessly into the existing virtualized infrastructure by linking them with Qlogic 8Gb/s Fibre Channel (FC) switches. The entire system replacement and data migration from the old systems to the new ones only took a few hours. It was amazingly quick and easy.

For their high performance, reliability and accessibility, Infortrend EonStor DS storage systems were deployed as the primary storage for the mission critical applications, such as SQL, email and file sharing in Maddalena.
