Overview

High Availability (HA) Edge is a two-node high-availability solution designed for edge computing environments where uptime is critical and operational simplicity matters. With built-in automatic failover, it minimizes downtime for mission-critical edge applications and helps maintain service continuity. HA Edge offers a strong balance of resilience, cost efficiency, and ease of management, making it a practical choice for organizations that need reliable business continuity without the overhead of complex infrastructure.


Models

HA Edge solution is available on two hardware series: the power-efficient KS 3000U, optimized for space-constrained edge environments, and the high-performance KS 5000U, designed for compute-intensive workloads. Supporting EPYC™ and Intel® Xeon® AMD processors, the solutions deliver 16 to 320 CPU cores and support up to four GPUs. With rackmount and desktop form factors, HA Edge offers flexible deployment options for diverse edge environments.

KS 3000U

Designed for space-constrained and power-limited edge environments, KS 3000U strikes an optimal balance between performance, power efficiency, and cost. Its single AMD EPYC™ 8004 Series processor makes it well-suited for AI inference, real-time video analytics, retail operations, and other demanding edge workloads. Two models are available:

  • KS 3004U – Compact short-depth rackmount platform for AI inference and video analytics
  • KS 3004UE – Low-noise platform designed for office and retail environments

KS 5000U

KS 5000U is purpose-built for compute-intensive and large-scale edge workloads. Equipped with dual Intel® Xeon® Scalable or AMD EPYC™ 9004/9005 Series processors, it delivers up to 320 CPU cores and support for four GPUs per node — providing the compute density, scalability, and acceleration needed for AI and data-intensive applications. Three models are available, each optimized for distinct workload requirements:

  • KS 5008U – GPU-centric platform for AI training, generative AI, and 3D rendering
  • KS 5016U – Balanced platform combining dual-processor performance with 16 NVMe bays for AI and smart manufacturing
  • KS 5024U – Storage-optimized platform for databases, CRM systems, and data logging

Flexible Data Protection by Application

KS supports cross-node data replication (Replica x2) and allows replication to be configured individually for each application. Critical applications, such as manufacturing systems, databases, and CRM applications, benefit from replication to ensure optimal data protection. For less critical applications, such as non-production workloads, replication may not be necessary, allowing you to allocate resources where they are most needed. This approach provides greater flexibility in data protection management.

Backup and Restore

For greater flexibility, KS offers a backup of containers and VMs. By backing up all application data and settings, KS ensures consistency for containerized applications, helping enterprises maintain seamless operations.

Enterprises can streamline their data protection strategies with remote backup to cloud or remote storage. To improve backup efficiency, KS offers a variety of features, including scheduled backups, incremental backups, and a comprehensive monitoring dashboard to oversee backup status and ensure the process runs smoothly.

High Availability

KS is designed with automatic node failure detection and failover functions. The system can automatically detect node failures and quickly transfer applications to healthy nodes. With application protection, KS ensures that even in the event of a physical node failure, the application services continue to run without any downtime.

A faulty node can be completely removed from and rejoined to the cluster system after repair, without requiring system downtime. This greatly enhances availability and ensures the continuity of enterprise applications.

EonSight is an AI-driven intelligent monitoring solution that provides comprehensive resource management from clusters down to individual nodes. The system automatically establishes performance baselines and conducts real-time deviation detection, enabling it to identify anomalies and trigger alerts in real time. The management system also features proactive prediction capabilities, forecasting system usage and offering recommendations for resource adjustments or expansion, allowing enterprises to take preventive measures before issues arise.

GPU sharing for resource efficiency: This allows multiple applications to share the same GPU resources, enabling applications to compute simultaneously while dynamically adjusting GPU resources based on each application's needs.

GPU passthrough to boost performance: This allows VMs to directly access physical GPU resources, achieving performance nearly equivalent to running directly on the host. This feature addresses the typical limitations of VMs, where GPU performance is constrained by hardware virtualization. It significantly benefits GPU-intensive applications such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and HPC.


Application Market

KS offers an Application Market with applications across more than 10 categories, including manufacturing, IT services, AI/machine learning, big data, DevOps tools, e-commerce, and business applications, addressing the diverse needs of customers. Enterprises can also create custom applications on KS and share them across different departments, effectively reducing redundant work. Infortrend offers KS for running applications but excludes implementation services, requiring customers to build or deploy their own applications.
